Pieces of furniture with gorgeous details can really stand out with a glazing technique. If I’m working on intricate details like this piece, I typically will use furniture paint that I have on hand rather than buying a separate glazing product. I used Fusion Coal Black Paint for this piece. I use a round brush to apply the glaze. Watch this video to see exactly how I do this technique.
The base coat of this piece is General Finishes Millstone. Glazing is more dramatic with two contrasting colors like this lighter base coat and the black glaze. However, you can also use similar colors for a more subtle look. If the furniture has detailing like this, I typically love to glaze it, it adds a perfect amount of of charm to the detailing to give your piece a professional artistic touch!
