I so have enjoyed working on this beautiful buffet! The character on it is so charming and unique, it’s one of the most beautiful pieces I have ever seen or refinished! I am going to share with you a few videos from this makeover…
Before….

Check out that super long drawer on the top!…

And After!!!! I just love this transformation!

Here is a quick video on how to clean hardware from old furniture!
This buffet was painted in General Finishes “Lamp Black.” I also knew I wanted to leave the legs of the piece wood for a two toned look. I thought the combo of dark wood and black on this piece would bring out it’s vintage charm like no other! I didn’t think it was necessary to sand down the legs to it’s raw wood, because the color I chose was very similar to the original wood color. I just wanted to freshen it up a bit, give it a little more richness to the color. For a job like this, I love General Finishes water based stain. I used the color “Espresso“. Take a peek at this video!
I sealed the stain with General Finishes High Performance Top Coat in Satin. I would say the finished product is absolutely perfect!!! I’m in love!
